We cannot stop dementia, we can only slow down its development. We cannot blame dementia for every memory fading. When we grow old, our brain functions slowly deteriorate, that is why memory fading is a common event.

Dementia is a chronical, progression deteriorating of cognitive functions. Later on it effects senses and motoric functions, and gradually effects entire functioning, including emotions and general behaviour.
